For nearly twenty years Claire Randall has kept her secrets. But now she is returning with her grown daughter to Scotland’s majestic mist-shrouded hills. Here Claire plans to reveal a truth as stunning as the events that gave it birth: about the mystery of an ancient circle of standing stones… about a love that transcends the boundaries of time… and about Jamie Fraser, a Scottish warrior whose gallantry once drew a young Claire from the security of her century to the dangers of his.
Now a legacy of blood and desire will test her beautiful copper-haired daughter, Brianna, as Claire’s spellbinding journey of self-discovery continues in the intrigue-ridden Paris court of Charles Stuart… in a race to thwart a doomed Highlands uprising… and in a desperate fight to save both the child and the man she loves
“I stood stock-still, watching. I had come through the fading night to find this, to stop them. And having found them, now I could not intervene, for fear of causing a fatal interruption. All I could do was wait, to see which of my men would die.”
*sigh* This book – this whole series – will be the death of me. I know it. Have you ever been terrified to finish a book because you just know that the characters’ future is going to shatter your heart into little, irretrievable pieces? I feel that way as I near the end of Dragonfly in Amber (#2 in the Outlander series). I cried like a snot-nosed toddler reading book #1, so I’m under no impression that the rest of book two won’t leave me emotionally crippled. And yet, I love it ;).
Cheers!
I totally get what you mean. Having heard a spoiler I am completely unable to finish the first book in this series – I’m stuck at about 75%! But I may have to finish it this year as I do plan to watch the TV series eventually!

Spoilers suck! OO but please finish it – you won’t regret it, especially when you switch over to the show. It’s one of the best interpretations of a book I’ve seen. And the casting is amazing!
I’m a little obsessed…

I read the first book in the series, and haven’t got around to getting onto the rest, although I really enjoyed it. We haven’t yet got the TV series, but I’m glad to hear it’s good… This is my fantasy offering https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2016/01/19/teaser-tuesday-19th-jan/

I have read books that I did not want to end and yes, I have read a book or two that didn’t have the outcome I wanted, but worked even better for that reason.

I haven’t started this series though the first book has been on my TBR mountain forever. I will have to wait until I’m in the mood for a good cry. The teaser on my adult blog comes from Night Study by Maria V. Snyder. Happy reading!

The second one goes so much deeper… It revolves around Jamie and Claire, of course, but it goes so much further beyond that. ❤ Diana Gabaldon 🙂

I got this series from my sister a few years ago and read them all through consecutively. Couldn’t stop reading them. I’m glad you’re enjoying them. Here’s my TT from a novel by Margaret George, Mary Called Magdalene: http://wp.me/p4DMf0-18l

Hi Keely, thanks for stopping by “A Spirit of Healing”. I am not a great fan of Diana Galbaldon. I read the first book in the series and it just didn’t draw me in. Hope you enjoy it 🙂

I love the title. And the teaser…
Gah, I want to start the series, but I don’t want my heart broken.

lol – it’ll be repaired soon thereafter, I promise 🙂 Claire and Jamie are just the kind of characters that suck you in – you tend to feel everything they do. It’s a fantastic kind of torture.
